Psychology for ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopment condition that is characterised by difficulties with concentration, regulating emotions and/or behaviour. ADHD can create challenges for people with regards to their home life, education, work, and relationships. Individuals with ADHD are more vulnerable to experiencing mental health difficulties, low self-esteem, drug or alcohol abuse or engage in risky behaviours.

ADHD in adults is often under-detected, especially in women. It is a myth that ADHD is purely a childhood disorder. If suspect you may have symptoms, it is never too late to have an assessment for ADHD.  Life isn't always set up to allow people with ADHD to flourish. Through therapy and coaching, we help people to learn about ADHD and how to harness their strengths and weaknesses to reduce the impact of impairment and improve their quality of life

Client's Experience of Adult ADHD Diagnostic Assessment Process:

"When I finally took the step to seek an assessment for ADHD, I was pretty nervous, but I really shouldn't have worried. Ali was absolutely wonderful, and I immediately felt at ease the moment our first session began. She was thoughtful, empathetic and so easy to talk to.

Ali guided me through the entire process with compassion, respect, and understanding, all the while patiently listening to my (many!) thoughts. She framed each question in a way that gave me an opportunity to reflect and share real examples, without me feeling like I was just a series of boxes to be ticked. She didn't rush me through any stage of the assessment but instead ensured we covered everything carefully, and diligently. This was incredibly helpful in allowing me to process everything as we worked through it.

When my ADHD diagnosis was reached, I felt like I had truly been listened to. I didn't feel left in the dark either, as Ali also took the time to walk me through how to move forwards in our follow-up session. The whole experience left me feeling a renewed sense of self, with a clearer path forwards. Ali's kindness, professionalism, and wisdom are a rare combination, and I'm so thankful that she was the therapist to help me along my journey".
